Matiko Mamaladze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. She grew up in an artistic family surrounded by her mother’s and grandfather’s works. They were a source of inspiration and encouragement to her. Matiko studied art at the Nikoladze Art School and the Academy of Fine Arts where she received her Master’s Degree in Fine Art. 

She identifies as a Romance Artist, and her paintings are often focused on the subject of love. They are stirring and emotional, full of color, and a pleasure to behold. “Different things inspire me,” says Matiko. “People, nature, mood, or simply everyday events.” 

Her work is figurative, and centers on people. Mood is of primary importance. Her work will fill your heart with warmth, joy, and song. “Hope for the future” is a common theme felt throughout her work.

Matiko currently lives in Media, PA with her husband Parna Surabischwili, who is also an artist, and their two sons Sandro and Giorgi.
